‘noeys’ is a personal brand based in Toronto, Canada created by ceramicist and chandler Noelle Castillo.

The Candle Journey

Noelle’s candle journey began in early 2024, sparked by a luxury candle-making class that opened her eyes to the difference between mass-market candles and those crafted with care. After years of burning inexpensive candles that caused headaches and felt overly synthetic, experiencing a truly well-made candle changed everything.

She soon realized, however, that high-end candles came with equally high price tags. This inspired her to recreate that same sense of luxury at home—without the markup. Through countless hours of testing, refining, and learning, Noelle developed her own approach to accessible luxury candles: pieces defined not by cost, but by intention, quality, and craft.

Her signature candle philosophy is built on:

  • Natural, sustainable wax — a coconut-apricot blend for a clean, long burn

  • Complex, perfume-inspired scents — using high-quality fragrance and essential oils

  • Wooden wicks — warm, even burns with a soft crackle

  • Minimal, elegant packaging — timeless vessels and considered design

  • Hand-poured craftsmanship — every candle made with care, patience, and precision

The Ceramics Journey

Noelle discovered ceramics in late 2024 during a pottery class with her sister. Her first attempts were imperfect—thick walls, uneven rims—but something about the process felt grounding and eye-opening. It became a turning point, reconnecting her with the creative world she grew up around.

Raised in a family of artists, Noelle always loved the arts but took a more traditional academic route, navigating computer science, marketing, and business while searching for her true path. After exploring countless hobbies, ceramics was the one that finally resonated. At 21, she realized she wanted to create pieces that felt intentional, warm, and personal—objects that lived beautifully in the home.

Blending her background in candle making with her newfound love for clay, she set out to create pieces that were handmade from start to finish. Each vessel, glaze, and candle became an opportunity to slow down, craft mindfully, and embrace the small variations that make handmade work special.

With her business and design experience, Noelle founded Noeys to share carefully crafted pottery and candles that feel luxurious yet accessible. Her goal is simple:
to offer thoughtfully made pieces that bring beauty, comfort, and character into everyday life—without the luxury-brand price tag.
